Hussh and a16z Speedrun SR 007
Hussh's a16z Speedrun SR 007 application milestone, framed around the program window and the personal agent infrastructure thesis behind One and PCHP.
TL;DR: Hussh applied to a16z Speedrun SR 007 on 2026-05-17, using the program window to sharpen a simple category claim: personal AI needs user-owned agent infrastructure. Status as of 2026-05-17: Application submitted.
Relations
- One β product direction behind the application thesis.
- PCHP β consent infrastructure behind Hussh's personal agent layer.
- Personal Operating Layer β broader product category Hussh is building toward.
Program context
Official program note: Applications for a16z speedrun SR007 are now open, published by a16z on 2026-04-20.
SR 007 is the Summer/Fall 2026 cohort of a16z's speedrun program. Applications opened on 2026-04-20 and closed on 2026-05-17 at 11:59 PM PT. The cohort is scheduled to run from 2026-07-27 through 2026-10-11, with Demo Day on 2026-10-06.
a16z describes speedrun as a fast path for exceptional founders: rolling admissions, up to $1M of investment, more than $5M in cloud/AI/software credits, operator support, investor distribution, and no board seat at this stage. By SR 007, the program had already backed more than 250 companies, invested more than $300M, and brought nearly 10,000 investors into the prior batch.
Hussh submitted on the final day of that window, with the application acting less like a one-off form and more like a useful forcing function: say the category clearly, define the wedge, and make the founder story concrete enough for an outside partner to understand quickly.
What Hussh brought into the room
The fit is straightforward: speedrun is built for founders moving quickly through new AI-native product categories, and Hussh is building one of those categories from first principles.
The thesis behind the application:
Personal AI needs infrastructure the user owns.
That means agents should not only answer inside a chat window. They should be able to remember, reason, ask for permission, and act through systems that keep the person in control.
For Hussh, that work centers on:
- One β the personal operating layer where user-owned agents live.
- PCHP β the consent and permission layer underneath trusted action.
- MCP-aware access β a way for AI assistants and developer tools to read trusted context without turning every conversation into disposable memory.
Why the milestone matters
The application matters because it compressed the company into one public-facing sentence: Hussh is personal agent infrastructure for user-owned AI.
That is the thread connecting the product work. One gives the user a personal operating layer. PCHP gives agents a permission model. The wiki and MCP surfaces give humans and AI tools durable context, so important work does not disappear into a chat transcript.
The more important point is not the form itself. It is the direction the form captured: agents that can become useful to people, legible to developers, and accountable enough for real workflows.
